Zeppelins, Dirigibles, and Airships

Today I took the kids to a place that I have wanted to visit for a long time. We have driven past the Tillamook Air Museum many times and never took the time to stop. We drove up there this morning leaving Sarah to get some sleep. The air museum is 1072 ft long 192 ft tall and a width of 297 ft. This all adds up to over 7 acres and one of the largest wooden buildings constructed. It was amazing to see. The kids had such a blast looking at the planes and especially enjoyed siting and playing in the trainers (replicas of cockpits that had all of the controls levers and switches in them). They told me several times that it was a lot of fun. Afterwards we had to make a stop at the cheese factory for some squeaky cheese for the drive home. It filled the day and the kids learned a lot about blimps and even a fair amount about the Hindenburg. They really enjoyed the hands on learning.
